Approaching the New Year Stuck in an Emotional Ditch?

A statistic from research out of the University of Scranton says only 8% of people actually achieve their New Year goals.

This statistic blows my mind. It means that 92% allow themselves to betray their dreams! Does it mean that people DON’T want to reach their aspirations? No, most likely they just don’t HAVE the necessary mindset skills.

I’m not sure how accurate this statistic is – personally I thought it would have been a higher percentage, but I can’t say that I’m surprised that so few people actually follow through with their New Year’s resolutions..

So how do we explain this low success rate?

One reason is there are a lot of people out there who don’t know what they want. They love to try new things, and do something they believe is exciting. It gives them a high, a hit of dopamine that doesn’t last long.

But I think the biggest reason has to do with the DIY nature of mindset training.

People realize that there is something wrong with their mindset. They read a lot of books to learn what they are supposed to think and feel, but they don’t actually do it themselves in terms of vibrational feedback.

In other words, they dive into the content but don’t apply the emotional part of the work. They lack practical support to guide them through the process. So they get stuck, frustrated, and finally say “To heck with this.”

They don’t have anybody to pull them out of the emotional ditch.

I decided to get started doing something about that darn 8% problem by developing Negative Thinking Breakthrough group coaching.

If you’re part of the 8%, think of me as your tow truck – I want to help you get unstuck and make sure you have success over your habit of negative thinking.
